First Year Experience:
In Dental Materials lab I have learned how take impressions and how to pour the impression up to make a study model. I used plaster to make my first study model but I have also worked with stone. After pouring up the impression I had to let it set for about an hour before I separated them. The last step was to trim the model and then "pretty" it up by sanding and removing all the jagged edges. A lot of work goes into these models but it was definitely a great learning experience.

Second Year Experience:
My first year at WSCC consisted of learning how to take radiographs, while my second years was learning how to "perfect" them. Although it may be hard to take a perfect image every time, it is important to get them as diagnostic as possible so that the dentist can correctly diagnose the patient. I really enjoy taking radiographs and I plan to improve my ability throughout school and my career.
